DIRECTIONS and PARKING

The building is an old brick office building with a faded gold dome -- the first hi-rise in New Haven, built in the 20's.  It is on the corner of Elm and Church Streets.  The entrance to the offices is not on the corner where the bank entrance is, but on the Church Street side, under a big green awning that says "205." 

Specific Directions:

From I-91 South or North
From I-95 South or North
From Whitney Avenue heading South
From Whalley Avenue heading Southeast
From Route 34 (the Valley)

Parking options:

1.  End of the day appointments - If your appointment is after banking hours (which may mean, after 4 pm, depending upon the bank) -- find a parking lot for a BANK, because you can park free.  This means on Elm Street, the lot for Wachovia Bank, on the left; on Church Street, the lot for Bank of Southern New England or Citizens Bank (tiny entrances on your right). 

2.  Parking on the street.

3.  Parking garages, including Grove Street Garage and the Connecticut Financial Center.

GROVE STREET -- this is a covered lot TWO BLOCKS from the office.  After you park, come out onto Grove Street and take a left on Church Street.  Walk two blocks south on Church Street toward the intersection of Church and Elm until you see the green awning that says "205.". 

CONNECTICUT FINANCIAL CENTER - this is a covered lot and you will have a short walk through the garage.  Upon entering, take first right into Lane 2.  After parking, take the elevator to "B" and follow the signs to the NewAlliance Bank. Take next set of elevators to the Lobby.  You will emerge onto the corner of Church and Elm.  CROSS Elm Street to the Wachovia Bank.  Continue to the green awning on Church Street that says "205."

Pro Park - these are open lots on Orange Street and you must leave keys with the attendant. This is not recommended for the END of the day, although if you explain that you are going to 205 Church, the attendant may leave your keys at the lobby desk if leaving before you do.

There are various other lots - courthouse parking, etc.

From I-91

Take Exit 3, Trumbull Street. Get in the left lane and proceed to the traffic light at the end of the exit at Orange Street. Take a left on Orange Street and proceed to a parking garage as follows OR simply take a right onto Grove Street, then a second left onto Temple Street, then second left onto Elm Street.  If you don't park in a garage you would turn left onto Church Street.

If you plan to park in Grove Street Parking Garage, at the first light, take a right onto Grove Street. The Grove Street parking garage is on your right. Proceed as above.

If you plan to park in the Connecticut Financial Center, at the first light, take a right onto Grove Street.  At the second light, take a left onto Temple Street. At the first light take a left onto Elm Street staying to the right-hand side.  After the first light, take a right under the NewAlliance Bank Building (on the corner of Church & Elm) before you get to Webster Bank.   Proceed as above.

From I-95 (North Bound or South Bound)

Take exit #48, the I-91 North exit.  Get off I-91 at exit 3, Trumbull Street.  Then follow the directions listed above for I-91.

From Whitney Avenue heading South

If you plan to look for a parking space:  head all the way down to Elm Street, then left onto Church.

If you plan to park in the Grove Street garage:  head down to the split where Whitney merges into Temple, then take a left onto Trumbull Street, and second right (after Whitney) onto Orange Street, then proceed as above for I-91.

If you plan to park in the Connecticut Financial Center, continue past Church Street and take the right under the New Alliance Bank Building (corner of Church & Elm) which is before you get to Webster Bank, and proceed as above under I-91.

From Whalley Avenue:

Simply continue until Whalley becomes Elm, all the way to Church Street, passing the New Haven Green on your right.

If you plan to park in the Grove Street garage, cross Church and then take a left on Temple.  Take your second left onto Grove, and then to the garage as described under I-91.

If you plan to park in the Connecticut Financial Center, continue past Church Street and take the right under the New Alliance Bank Building (corner of Church & Elm) which is before you get to Webster Bank, and proceed as above under I-91.

From Route 34:

Take the exit for Church Street, Downtown.  Proceed in the direction of Downtown.  You should be on Church Street heading east.

If you plan to look for a parking space, head towards the New Haven Green.  After you pass the Green, which is on your left, our office is on the right after the intersection with Elm Street

If you plan to park in the Grove Street Garage, take a right onto Elm Street, a left onto Orange Street (which is two-way at that point) and a second left onto Grove Street. Proceed as above.

If you plan to park in the Connecticut Financial Center Garage, take a right onto Elm Street and proceed as above under I-9I.
